NetHosting

NetHosting

NetHosting offers an Intel dual-core 2GHz processor in its Mark II plan, which seems to be the weakest processor specification after 1&1. No option is available to upgrade the processor, either. A 160GB hard drive is included in the plan, which puts NetHosting on par with HostDime. The hard drive specification also appears to be the second-lowest of all the reviewed web hosts, although there is an option to upgrade the hard drive. RAID is optional for this plan as well.

The included 1GB RAM is the lowest of all the web hosts I reviewed. Although there is an option to upgrade the RAM, the site makes no mention of the maximum upgrade available. The included data transfer of 1500GB is the second-lowest of all the reviewed web hosts. A total of five IP addresses are included in the plan, which places NetHosting in third place on this feature. Additional IP addresses are available for $1 a month each, which is the second-lowest cost after LiquidWeb.

A choice of four operating systems—CentOS, Fedora, Ubuntu, and Windows—is available, but none of these operating systems comes included with the plan. CPanel is the offered control panel, and comes at no extra cost. The Mark II plan doesn't include a software firewall; instead, an optional Cisco ASA5505 hardware firewall can be purchased for $100 a month. SSL is also optional for this plan.

There is no mention of any setup fee on the site, although there is a 30-day money-back guarantee on this service. The plan is available at a cost of $214.95 per month, which is the fourth-highest price of all the reviewed plans. NetHosting offers a yearly saving of $60, which turns out to be the lowest available discount after that offered by InMotion.
